A little bit about me

From a very young age I have always had a keen interest in makeup and the ability to change how someone looks with different makeup techniques fascinated me. At the age of 13 I spent my Saturdays applying one makeup look after another, perfecting eyeliner and practising on my unfortunate friends. I was hooked.

My family have always been very creative and we have even been called the 'arty farty family' when I was at school. My mother used to dress us in Von-Trap style clothing that she had made out of curtain like material and our school projects used to be award winningly worthy! She now has her own skin care range and website called West Barn Co. which I am also a part of. My twin sister Kirsty runs a successful bespoke wedding accessories company and my brother is a photo manipulation artist and photographer.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, I love films and knit in the in winter. I like nice food and cocktails and tend to be that one person you can not get off Karaoke after a few drinks. I enjoy spending time with my husband, nieces and nephews and enjoy quality time with my friends and family.

My makeup life

In 2013 I decided to train professionally at Newcastle academy with tutor and makeup artist Vikky Johnston. Here I trained on the fundamentals of makeup and the history of makeup and hair. I quickly embraced the industry in the occasion sector, then spent time in London at The Session School to expanded my training in hair, fashion and photographic makeup. I spent quite some time perfecting my photographic and editorial makeup and hair and worked on photoshoots, music videos and Fashion shows.

After spending a few years working in fashion and occasion work I gravitated towards film and TV and completed further training in Belfast with makeup artist Pam Smyth who the crowd Makeup Designer on HBO's Game of Thrones and makeup designer for BBC's The Fall.

I have since worked in TV/Film and editorial work as a hair and makeup artist as well as occasion and weddings.
